Registered Nurse Surgery

Role Overview: The Registered Nurse Surgery provides patient-centered care in the operating room, functioning primarily as a circulating nurse with valuable scrubbing skills. They supervise and deliver therapeutic and administrative services under the guidance of the Nurse Manager and OR team, caring for patients across all age groups. Key Responsibilities Evaluate patients prior to surgery and educate families about proceduresPrepare patients, including administering preoperative medications and verifying surgical sitesParticipate in surgical site verification and follow universal protocolsRecognize and respond to patient emergenciesDeliver high-quality care by applying evidence-based practices and participating in continuous improvementAssess and monitor patient condition throughout shifts, documenting thoroughlyCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams including surgeons and technologistsEducate patients and families on medical conditions and follow-up care Qualifications & Skills Preferred prior OR experience with circulating and scrubbing skillsNew to OR? At least 2 years of progressive acute care nursing preferredCurrent RN license with a Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s DegreeBasic Cardiac Life Support certification Additional Details: The role involves scheduled and on-call commitments.
