Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care for acute medical conditions, including respiratory support, ventilator weaning, and post-transplant care.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans in collaboration with an interprofessional team.
• Educate patients and families on managing illness, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while participating in professional development activities.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, cultural, and spiritual factors.
• Communicate care plans effectively across the continuum of care.
• Deliver patient-centered care in a 9-bed unit with private rooms.
• Participate in a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Utilize critical nursing skills for comprehensive assessment and evaluation.
• Engage in professional growth through the BJC RN Career Ladder, promoting leadership and career advancement.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current RN license.
• Minimum of a nursing diploma or associate's degree, with preferred bachelor's degree and less than two years of experience.
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism.
• Opportunities for CCRN eligibility after two years.
