Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice Inpatient, Full Time, Day

About the role

This nursing position provides hospice and palliative care to terminally ill patients of all ages, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care. The role supports patients and their families emotionally, spiritually, and physically, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient and family needs, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual aspects, and document findings.
• Develop, monitor, and update personalized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Educate patients and families on care needs, monitor responses to interventions, and coordinate additional services as required.
• Perform nursing interventions, adhering to standing orders and physician guidelines, and document all care activities accurately.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, vendors, and families to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Provide support during end-of-life planning, bereavement follow-up, and participate in team meetings and community education.
• Assist with admission, evaluation, and discharge procedures, and contribute to training and orientation of new staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current RN license recognized by the NCSBN Compact or state of practice.
• Experience in acute care, hospice, or home care preferred; no experience required.
