Registered Nurse - Pulmonary Medicine Unit - Nights

Position: Registered Nurse in Pulmonary Medicine Unit, caring for higher acuity patients. Location: Elmhurst, IL. Work Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours/week, with shifts from 7pm to 7:30am, including every 3rd weekend and holiday. Key Responsibilities Develop and evaluate individualized care plans, adjusting interventions to meet patient outcomes.Assess patients, collect health data, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Provide culturally sensitive patient education, including disease management and emergency care.Support professional development of colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team environment.Assist with technical procedures like IV management, contrast injections, and oxygen therapy.Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based practice activities.Conduct wound/ostomy/skin care rounds if skilled, and monitor treatment effectiveness.Ensure HIPAA compliance and assist with patient transport when needed. Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing or higher; Baccalaureate preferred. Note: RNs with diplomas are grandfathered or must complete a BSN within five years.Active Illinois RN license. Required certifications: ACLS and BLS from recognized organizations.Preferred: Bachelor’s in Nursing and at least one year of inpatient experience. Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and patient education skills, with a focus on compassionate care and teamwork.
