Registered Nurse - Post Surgical

About the role

Responsible for leading and coordinating staffing on a 24-bed post-operative bariatric unit, ensuring quality patient care for weight loss surgery patients, primarily Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts.
• Assess patient care needs, develop care assignments, and ensure appropriate care delivery.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, address care issues, and respond to patient care complaints.
• Contribute to staff hiring, training, development, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification within 30 days; ACLS and PALS may be required within six months depending on unit.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program with at least one year of relevant experience.
