Registered Nurse - Post Surgical Care

About the role

The RN Team Lead is a leadership role responsible for coordinating and delivering nursing care within a unit. They collaborate with management to plan daily activities, delegate patient care based on skill and acuity, and support staff development through teaching and precepting.

The role includes participating in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research initiatives. They oversee patient and family education, facilitate care transitions, and ensure adherence to nursing standards and the Mayo Nursing Care Model. Clinical care may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver nursing care within a unit
• Collaborate with management to plan daily activities
• Delegate patient care based on skill and acuity
• Support staff development through teaching and precepting
• Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research initiatives
• Oversee patient and family education
• Facilitate care transitions
• Ensure adherence to nursing standards and the Mayo Nursing Care Model
• Provide clinical care as required

Requirements

• Associate degree or diploma in nursing
• At least one year of RN experience
• Valid RN license
• BLS certification
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Computer proficiency
• Flexibility to work various shifts
