About the role
The Registered Nurse Nurse Manager (NM) focuses on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. This nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills. The NM is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other NMs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Sets goals and leads the team towards achieving them
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
- Directs and supervises nursing staff, including orientation, training, and performance evaluations
- Enhances care outcomes through evidence-based practices and process improvements
- Maintains knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and ensures compliance
- Provides leadership and mentorship to staff, promoting a culture of accountability and high-quality care
- Participates in strategy planning and execution to align nursing objectives with organizational goals
- Manages nursing care, ensuring safe and timely delivery of care
- Delegates tasks appropriately and ensures assigned tasks are completed by team members
- Improves nursing practice through continuous learning and application of best practices
Requirements
- Basic English language proficiency
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by an accrediting agency
- Current full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
- Completion of an approved nursing education program or equivalent experience
- Recent Nurse Manager experience of 2-3 years
- Recent Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Cardiology/Stress Lab Testing, and/or Bronchoscopy experience of 2-3 years
- ACLS certification
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing
- Master's degree in a related field with a BSN
- Doctoral degree in Nursing
- Doctoral degree in a related field with a BSN
