About the Role

The Forensic Mental Health Program provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides experienced, professional nursing care to clients in a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the needs of clients
  • Develop individualized nursing plans to meet those needs in coordination with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide direct nursing interventions and/or delegate specific nursing tasks to appropriate staff
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and the care provided

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved nursing school
  • Current licensure in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse
  • Ability to pass/perform CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Intervention

Future Registered Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-RN are encouraged to apply. Contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-RN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Patient care experience within a mental health or behavioral health setting
  • Bachelor's of Nursing degree

  • Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.

  • Night Shift, 10pm-8am
  • Days of work vary, will include every other weekend

$40.59 - $60.06 / hourly
