About the Role
A Med Surg RN is responsible for delivering personalized, evidence-based nursing care, building meaningful patient and family relationships, and ensuring optimal clinical outcomes. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create a safe, respectful environment, contribute to performance improvement initiatives, and mentor fellow nurses. The role involves applying evidence-based practices, participating in research, and supporting patient safety and system enhancements. Additionally, the RN plans proactive care, manages resources efficiently, and helps develop protocols to improve patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with patients and their families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a safe and respectful care environment.
- Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and mentor fellow nurses.
- Apply evidence-based practices and participate in research to enhance patient care.
- Support patient safety and system enhancements.
- Plan proactive care and manage resources efficiently.
- Develop and refine protocols to improve patient experiences.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Active RN license (single or multi-state).
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- At least 2 years of recent Med Surg experience.
- Proficiency in data entry skills.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and time management.
- Comfort with technology and electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, 3M).
- Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced or emergency situations.
