Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit

About the role

The nurse will plan, deliver, document, and evaluate correctional healthcare nursing care based on individual patient needs, adhering to recognized standards and provider orders. They will supervise nursing staff, observe and assess patient conditions, and maintain accurate documentation of care, treatment, and responses.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality patient care within correctional settings
• Coordinate activities of nursing personnel
• Uphold the organization’s mission, values, and customer service standards

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current Ohio RN licensure
• Hold or obtain Basic Life Support certification
• Knowledge of nursing theory, medical asepsis, equipment use, and patient care techniques
• Ability to maintain positive team relations
• Physical dexterity and ability to handle exposure to communicable diseases and chemicals

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Correctional health care experience
• Certifications such as Certified Corrections Nurse (CCN) or Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP)
