About the role
Progeny HR Solutions LLC is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Registered Nurse Manager to oversee the Emergency Department on night shifts at a leading healthcare facility in Kansas City, MO.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department on night shifts, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed to maintain high-quality care.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Manage staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and appropriate skill mix.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing education and training to promote professional development.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and department activities.
- Participate in the budgeting process and monitor department expenses to ensure financial goals are met.
- Handle patient and family complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay current with advancements in emergency nursing and implement new practices and technologies as appropriate.
Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Missouri.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in emergency nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership abilities and ability to effectively manage a team.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
