About the role
The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a designated nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to make informed decisions, ensuring safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. Collaborating with leadership, they provide clinical guidance to nursing staff, maintain continuity of care, and support the hospital’s mission and policies.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and review diagnostic data related to patient conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
- Provide guidance during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention outcomes.
- Drive process improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
- Engage in clinical leadership activities including coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
- Participate in initiatives to improve healthcare delivery.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure quality patient care.
- Support ongoing professional development and complete assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting or specialty.
- RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
- Computer literacy is required; additional training preferred.
