Registered Nurse, FLOAT Pool, Putnam, CT

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Accepts assignments in designated clinical areas based on demonstrated competency and current staffing needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
• Maintains patient safety and adheres to infection prevention, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Demonstrates flexibility by transitioning between assigned units while maintaining high-quality patient care.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and department-based education.
• Serves as a clinical resource while promoting teamwork and collaboration across departments.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensure: Current Connecticut Registered Nurse license or holds a multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Current BLS certification required for the Float Pool role. Current ACLS certification required for the Float Pool role.
• Experience: Minimum of two-three (2-3) years of recent acute care nursing experience required. Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing required. Progressive Care, Telemetry, ICU, Emergency Department, and/or Maternal Child Health preferred based on assigned float areas.
