About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides high-quality, individualized patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team. They perform the nursing process, ensuring safety, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centered relationships, utilizing evidence-based standards. The RN coordinates care, collaborates through effective communication, and supports performance improvement initiatives. They serve as preceptors or mentors, promote evidence-based practice, and comply with organizational policies and standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Partner with patients and families, ensuring clear communication and respecting diverse backgrounds.
- Document care accurately, promote teamwork, and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Support resource management and contribute to protocol development.
- Maintain professional competencies and serve as a mentor to staff and students.
- Ensure compliance with safety goals, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Valid RN license and required certifications (BLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS) upon hire.
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience.
