Registered Nurse Educator - Full Time

About the role

The Nurse Educator is an experienced registered nurse responsible for assessing educational needs, developing and delivering orientation and continuing education programs, and mentoring nursing staff to ensure high-quality, safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and evaluates educational programs for staff, students, and the community.
• Assesses staff practice through observations and reviews, creating tailored education plans to promote safe, effective care.
• Conducts classes and provides individualized training, tracking competency development and addressing performance issues.
• Participates in committee work to develop nursing standards, policies, and evidence-based practices.
• Supports staff development, investigates practice concerns, and maintains current knowledge of research and best practices.
• Acts as a role model, providing direct patient care as needed, and fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a minimum of 2 years in a specialty area. Current NY State RN license; BSN or MSN preferred. The role involves occasional direct patient care and adherence to all training and competency requirements to ensure excellence in nursing education and practice.

Skills

• Preferred certifications include BLS, ACLS, and specialty credentials.
• Strong communication, leadership, and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support a patient-centered care environment.
