Nurse Educator - Full-time

About the role

The Nurse Educator is a highly experienced registered nurse responsible for assessing educational needs, planning, delivering, and evaluating orientation and continuing education for nursing staff, students, and the community. They serve as a resource, mentoring staff, monitoring clinical competencies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to promote safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Develop educational programs for nursing staff, students, and the community.
• Assess staff practice and conduct classes.
• Create individualized development plans and track competency progression.
• Participate in committees to improve nursing practice and support policy development.
• Provide direct patient care and bedside leadership as needed.
• Monitor clinical competencies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Nursing degree (Associate’s or higher).
• Current New York State RN licensure.
• Minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• BSN or MSN degree.
• Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN, CNOR, etc.).
• Instructor certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor).
