About the Role

Acts as the hemodialysis team leader, supervising patient care staff and ensuring safe, effective delivery of chronic hemodialysis treatments. Communicates with healthcare team members to develop and adjust patient care plans, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and support staff through ongoing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to all procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Participate in staff scheduling, disciplinary actions, and staff meetings.
  • Assess patient needs, monitor treatments, respond to emergencies, and educate patients and families about dialysis and related health topics.
  • Supervise equipment use, perform testing, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist with staffing, documentation, quality assurance, and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • RN graduate from an accredited school with current state licensure.
  • Minimum of 9 months nursing experience and 3 months in dialysis; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Completion of hemodialysis training.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise staff, handle emergencies, and maintain compliance with safety standards.

Work Environment

Involves patient interaction, facility oversight, and travel between locations. Works in a healthcare setting with exposure to infectious materials and moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
