Role Overview

Acts as the hemodialysis team leader, overseeing chronic hemodialysis care and providing supervision to direct patient care staff. Ensures compliance with facility policies, regulations, and safety standards while supporting the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily guidance, support, and performance feedback to staff, participate in hiring and disciplinary decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in patient care planning, assessments, and emergency response.
  • Supervise dialysis treatments, monitor patient conditions, and respond to complications.
  • Administer medications, educate patients and families, and oversee documentation.
  • Manage equipment safety and operation, perform necessary tests, and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Assist with staff training, meetings, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with current state licensure (RN).
  • Minimum of 9 months nursing experience, including 3 months in dialysis.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Completion of hemodialysis training course.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to perform basic technical procedures, promote safety, and adapt to a healthcare setting with exposure to infectious materials.
  • Physical demands include interaction with patients and staff, and travel between facilities may be necessary.
