About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a nursing unit. Utilizing the nursing process, they collaborate with patients and families to promote health, ensuring safe, compassionate, and respectful care. They provide clinical leadership by guiding nursing staff, maintaining continuity of care, and supporting hospital policies and goals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic data and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Guide nursing staff during critical situations.
• Evaluate interventions and implement process improvements.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Support initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Active RN licensure.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Computer literacy.

Qualifications

Preferred skills include ACLS certification. The Head Nurse must demonstrate strong communication, clinical judgment, and leadership abilities to ensure quality patient care.
