This position involves coordinating a centralized bed management system to ensure efficient patient admissions, transfers, and bed utilization.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clinical staff to determine discharge, transfer, and bed availability status.
- Assign beds based on clinical appropriateness and medical necessity, taking action if criteria are not met.
- Support and direct admissions coordinators to facilitate smooth patient flow.
- Analyze bed management data, identify issues, develop solutions, and prepare reports for leadership review.
Requirements
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Diploma from an accredited nursing school and current professional licensure.
Schedule
The role involves alternating shifts including weekends and nights.
