This role is within the Patient Services department, focusing on bed management to ensure efficient patient admissions, transfers, and discharge planning. The position involves coordinating a centralized bed system, communicating with clinical staff to monitor bed availability, and reviewing admissions for clinical appropriateness and medical necessity. It includes providing support to admissions coordinators, analyzing bed management data, and preparing reports for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize occupancy.
• Communicate with clinical teams to plan bed assignments and resolve capacity issues.
• Review clinical and transfer requests to ensure appropriateness and resource availability.
• Support admissions staff to facilitate smooth patient flow.
• Analyze data, identify issues, and prepare reports for executive review.

Qualifications

• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing, required prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing school and current professional licensure at the time of hire.
