About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) on the MedSurg Oncology Unit provides high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Performing the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence-based practices.
- Delivering relationship-based, culturally sensitive care tailored to individual patient needs.
- Partnering with patients and families through effective communication, education, and shared decision-making.
- Coordinating and documenting safe, efficient care while promoting teamwork and collaboration across disciplines.
- Supporting performance improvement initiatives, research, and adherence to organizational policies and standards.
- Mentoring and serving as a preceptor to promote professional growth and a healthy work environment.
- Participating in data collection, protocol development, and resource management to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
- Less than one year of clinical experience required; direct patient care experience preferred.
