How You Will Make An Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Regional Sales Manager you will achieve revenue and operating profit growth targets in the given territory. This person should act as the Account Manager responsible for delivering sales goals and exceptional customer service within the assigned territory. They should implement key corporate initiatives and meet with customers to discuss their goals and needs and be the facilitator of information between SPX and the customers. They should meet with customers to discuss general conditions, perform inspections, repairs, upgrades, parts, and major modifications; prepare estimates and proposals as needed. Additionally, the incumbent must know the activity level of competitors in their specific region. They must also meet booking/revenue numbers for the quarters and the year.
The successful incumbent will demonstrate a clear sense of urgency and direction and will inspire and lead representatives and associates in addition to effectively communicating with representatives, associates, engineers, and customers.
What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)
- Actively pursue key accounts
- Work with the cross-functional sales team to maximize sales in the given territory
- Work with the proposal manager to properly communicate customer requirements
- Develop strategies for quoting opportunities and working with customers including setting pricing levels
- Contact and meet with customers to discuss all aspects of proposals and close opportunities
- Perform inspections and reports
- Meet territory sales and gross margin goals
- Contact and meet with Engineers to discuss integrating SPX as Basis of Design (BOD) on current and future Industrial Refrigeration opportunities
- Implement the SPX Sales Process (e.g. prospect, proposal, follow-up, close sale, order management, etc.) to drive growth
- Develop and cultivate customer relationships by meeting with customers, conducting presentations, and discussing existing projects
- Accurately portray pipeline to develop proper forecasts
- Participate in local industry organizations’ tradeshows, events, and meetings to promote SPX products and solutions
- Complete additional duties as required by management (e.g. productivity goals, QMI session, etc.)
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
- Required Experience: 3 years of direct sales experience, 3 years of Industrial Refrigeration experience
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree, in Engineering or another technical field
- Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Knowledge of industrial processes, refrigeration design and construction is helpful, Aftermarket or distributor sales (representative management) experience, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Ability to effectively manage data and understand analytics using a CRM / pipeline management tool
- Travel & Working Environment: Frequent travel to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit company locations (up to 50%)
Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $86,900 - $126,800 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors.
