Regional Operations Director (Instructor Pilot)
About the role
Serve as Civil Air Patrol - United States Air Force (CAP-USAF) Regional Program Manager. Analyze, validate performance, assign and approve missions, assess risk and risk management program, ensure operational viability and compliance with the Congressionally mandated Cooperative Agreement (CA).
Responsibilities
- Analyze and validate performance of CAP wings.
- Audit and approve missions.
- Assess and manage risks.
- Ensure operational viability and compliance with CA.
- Instruct and evaluate CAP programs, projects and activities.
- Guide CAP units on mission planning, execution and support.
Requirements
- 1500 total flight hours.
- 250 pilot-in-command hours.
- 75 night flying hours.
- 75 flight hours of instrument time (with at least 10 hours in actual instrument conditions).
- 100 hours flying time last 12 months.
Qualifications
- US Civilian.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Rated officer experience critical to mission success.
- Knowledge of AFNORTH Search and Rescue (SAR), Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) and Homeland Security (HLS) missions.
- Grants management training and technical expertise desired.
Skills
- Knowledge of and skill in operating complex general aviation (GA) aircraft.
- Knowledge of Air Force programmatic responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of federal grants management.
- Effective use of computer support software, databases, spreadsheets and web sites.
- Knowledge of and skill in using analytical methods and processes.
Pay
$110,000 – 125,000 (SSR – 0767)
