This position covers Sacramento and San Francisco areas and reports to the Senior Vice President & General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manages the new business development effort for all revenue categories; this will require being active in the field.
- Works with sellers in both Sacramento and San Francisco to develop VBRs and sales solutions, both audio and digital.
- Conducts sales meetings for both sales staffs to create direction and assist in developing new business strategies.
- Conducts one-on-one Media Strategist meetings to help develop multimedia opportunities with prospects and develop VBRs for each.
- Maintains accountability measurements based on corporate mandated KPIs.
- Manages corporate contests and sales initiatives.
- Maintains new business initiatives and holds the Media Strategist team accountable for setting goals and activity parameters while managing projections and pacing.
- Ensures that CRM and other systems are being used and properly updated.
- Researches verticals and finds contacts for specific targets.
- Creates VBRs for the staff in each market to prospect and set appointments.
- Targets new business prospects in market and out of market for radio and digital opportunities.
- Prepares presentations and proposals for Radio, Digital, and event sponsorship opportunities.
- Works with Sr. Vice President & General Manager, programming management, and promotional staff to create unique on-air opportunities.
- Works with digital support staff to design strategic approaches to client and prospect needs and desired outcomes.
- Recruits, interviews, and hires quality sales professionals and prospective sales professionals.
- Participates in the training and development of each new and existing Media Strategists.
- Attends major events and promotions in both Sacramento and San Francisco.
Qualifications
- Must have 2+ years of media-related experience selling digital platforms as well as previous sales management experience.
- Prior radio, TV, or other traditional media experience preferred but not required.
- Extensive knowledge of digital sales processes, digital platforms, technical markets, distribution channels, buying patterns, and budgeting.
- A proven track record of strong digital sales management and effective closing skills.
- History of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment through strategic thinking, tactical implementation, and effectively managing multiple projects.
- A confident personality and sense of urgency while being a creative and innovative thinker.
- The willingness to embrace change, encourage innovation, and solve problems creatively.

Pay
$80,000-$100,000 per year plus overrides and bonuses.
