Regional Development Associate
This position provides advanced direct administrative support to three or more frontline major gift fundraisers and supports regional engagement efforts. The role handles administrative duties including meeting and travel arrangements, gift and pledge recording accuracy, high-level correspondence and briefings, proposal pipeline maintenance, filing, phone coverage, research, event support, and technical and logistical support for fundraisers. Additionally, this role manages most information technology tasks and functions supporting the fundraisers and collaborates with other development associates and fundraising staff within Brown’s Division of Advancement.
The position can be located in either Providence, RI or California near a major metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced administrative support to major gift fundraisers, including meeting and travel arrangements.
- Ensure accuracy in gift and pledge recording.
- Handle high-level correspondence, briefings, and proposal pipeline maintenance.
- Manage filing, phone coverage, research, and event support.
- Provide technical and logistical support for fundraisers, including IT tasks.
- Collaborate with other development associates and fundraising staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field such as fundraising, administrative support, nonprofits, sales, customer service, volunteer management, and/or marketing.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and project and time management skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft and Google platforms, especially Google Calendar, email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with audio/visual and presentation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Proven ability to analyze data, research information, problem-solve, and coordinate projects.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment with emphasis on accuracy and deadline adherence.
- Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
- Highly motivated, proactive individual who can think independently and analytically.
- Ability to apply tact and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of BSR Advance and Blackbaud, or a similar CRM.
- Experience using AI-powered tools to support proposal writing, build presentations, and streamline administrative workflows.
