This position is located at Region I Health Care Administration in Elk Grove, CA (Sacramento County). Main communication for this position will be through email.

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 16, and related Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by 4.62% and receive 8 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Deputy Medical Executive (RDME), the Regional Physician and Surgeon (RP&S) will:

• Support implementation and improvements in key areas within Medical Services consistent with the Complete Care Model and community standards of care.
• Perform institution-specific duties onsite or remotely via video teleconferencing (VTC).
• Handle regional office-based assignments and community outreach activities.
• Support recruitment and retention of qualified medical providers.
• Ensure delivery of appropriate, timely, safe, cost-effective, and efficient clinical services.

Extensive travel to institutions is required.

Pay

This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rates are:
