PHYSICIAN AND SURGEON, CF (IM/FP) - California Medical Facility (CMF)

About the Role

Under the general direction of the Chief Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility (CF), the Physician & Surgeon, CF (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) provides medical care to patients in a correctional facility. This position is located at California Medical Facility (CMF) in Vacaville, CA, located in Solano County.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assessments and provides medical treatment for assigned patients as appropriate and authorized by the medical license, consistent with Department policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines
• Provides clinical consultation and support to Advanced Practice Providers
• Instructs nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols
• Adheres to professional medical standards of care
• Assigned on-call duties

Requirements

• Valid Physician and Surgeon license
• Internal Medicine or Family Practice specialization

Pay

• This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is: P $26,677, Q $28,156, R $29,640
• Employees in this class, employed within CDCR and physically located and assigned to this institution, shall receive a pay differential equivalent to 15% of their monthly base pay
• Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. Each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 16, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 4.62 percent and will receive 8 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis
