About the role
We are seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide social, recreational, and diversional activities for participants at our sites. The role involves supporting community-based programs aimed at promoting independence and active living for older adults.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual assessments
- Develop and implement group and individual activities
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning
- Coordinate recreation documentation
- Train and supervise volunteers and interns
- Lead facility-wide participant-centered events
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy
- BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (within 6 months of hire)
Qualifications
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience working with elderly or disabled populations
