About the role
We are seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide therapeutic social, recreational, and diversional activities supporting older adults in a community-based program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual assessments to identify participants' interests and needs.
- Develop and implement both individual and group activities tailored to participants.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
- Coordinate recreation documentation for assigned participants.
- Train and supervise volunteers, youth program assistants, and interns.
- Lead facility-wide participant-centered events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy.
- Within 30 days of hire: BLS certification from American Heart Association.
- Within 6 months: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist credential.
Qualifications
Preferred: 2+ years of experience working with elderly or disabled populations.
