Recreation Leader Extra Help Part-Time

About the role

The Recreation Leader position is supervised by the Recreation Supervisor and involves organizing and supervising various sports and facilities at Clovis area playgrounds, parks, the recreation center, skatepark, and the Clovis Batting Range.

Responsibilities

• Supervise adult indoor and outdoor sports such as inline hockey, basketball, softball, volleyball, and soccer.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Clovis Batting Range, performing tasks like minor equipment maintenance, inventory management, daily revenue accounting, and customer service.
• Supervise participants at the Clovis Rotary Skatepark and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Organize and manage recreation supplies and equipment.
• Complete incident and participation reports.
• Direct the activities of recreation volunteers and referees.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR certificates, or obtain certificate within three (3) months of hire.
• Education sufficient to assure the ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills at the level required for successful job performance.
• Experience: Six (6) months of work experience, internship, or volunteer experience in any field.
• Hours: Available to work between the hours of 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM seven (7) days per week.

• Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Strength - Medium work, occasional lifting, carrying, and/or pushing up to 100 pounds maximum; frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds; ability to lead and participate in physically demanding athletic/recreational activities; ability to work scheduled shifts and work outdoors.
