Assistant Recreation Leader (Part-time)

Responsibilities

• Cook up and distribute equipment and uniforms.
• Assist with setup and supervision of games, practices, and tournaments, including evenings and weekends.
• Serve as an on-site supervisor at sports programs and special events, ensuring safety, sportsmanship, and fun.
• Respond to participant and volunteer inquiries with strong customer service and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with other town departments, community partners, and outside sports program administrators.
• Aid in organizing and running community events and department-wide recreation programming.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of sports rules, field layouts, and recreational league organization.
• Strong communication, organization, and computer skills.
• Experience working in recreation, youth sports coaching, therapeutic or adaptive programs, camp leadership, or community programming.
• Ability to lead volunteers or part-time staff.
• Positive engagement with youth and families.
• Quick adaptation to changing situations.
• A valid Massachusetts Class D Drivers License.

Salary

$16 - $18.22 hourly
