Recreation Leader, Community Enrichment Program (Part-time)
Position Summary
This position focuses on staffing after-school programs daily between the hours of 3:00 PM-7:00 PM during the school year, with the potential to assist with additional festivals and programs. The position assists in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the programs of the CitiParks Community Enrichment Team by coordinating recreational activities while articulating and enforcing City policies and procedures. Programming includes, but is not limited to, educational, physical, and leisure activities, organized sports, games, non-physical activities, music, fine arts, and crafts.
About the Role
The individual must possess the sensitivity, awareness, and skills associated with working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The position requires incorporating community issues, concerns, and needs, physical and human resources, while implementing the City's/Center's plan.
Responsibilities
- Supports art and enrichment classes in various Community Enrichment programs and settings, including school year grant-based elementary after-school programs, K-5 summer CitiCamps, the Citiparks Roving Art Cart "Arts in the Parks" program, and community settings.
- Works individually and in group and team settings to ensure the successful on-site coordination of Community Enrichment programs.
- Takes a leadership role to ensure the successful on-site coordination of Community Enrichment programs.
- Communicates program activities, outcomes, and programs effectively to parents, administrators, and community organizations throughout the City of Pittsburgh.
- Aids in the preparation of daily program materials and understanding materials inventories.
- Aids in the daily setup and breakdown of youth outreach programs.
- Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
