Recreation Director Responsibilities
- Create engaging monthly activity calendars and resident newsletters
- Develop person-centered individual and group activities, including sensory and therapeutic programs
- Plan and coordinate resident, family, holiday, and employee appreciation events
- Supervise, train, and support the Recreation Department staff
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in Quality Assurance and interdisciplinary care team meetings
- Manage departmental budgets, supplies, and scheduling
- Foster a fun, engaging, and resident-centered environment
Recreation Director Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or applicable certification preferred
- Must possess one of the following credentials: ADC, CDP, or CTRS and TBI Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with care planning and regulatory compliance
- Computer proficiency and excellent time management skills
