This position is located at Outdoor Recreation - Fort Riley, Kansas. The Fort Riley Outdoor Recreation Program is a multi-use recreation facility with a multitude of amenities and services. This is a developmental position. After one year of satisfactory performance in the NF-01 Recreation Aid (Developmental) position, the incumbent may be eligible for non-competitive promotion to NF-02 Recreation Assistant at management's request.

Responsibilities

  • Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory.
  • Receives and resolves customer complaints.
  • Provides information and general instructions on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Assists patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instruction, demonstrating new equipment, teaching classes, etc.
  • Assists in planning, conducting, and arranging support for special events, social activities, tournaments, and related functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Access to certain federal facilities may require a REAL ID-compliant driver's license/ID (marked with a star) or an Enhanced Driver's License (EDL) from WA, MI, MN, NY, or VT.

  • NF-01 Qualifications: No work experience required.
  • NF-02 Qualifications: Work experience which involved dealing with the general public.

This job is open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Non-U.S. Nationals must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized.
