About the role
Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. Assists qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, and performing health screening procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conducts finger stick to obtain donor’s hematocrit and total protein levels.
- May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and proper nutrition.
- Ensures all donor questions are answered promptly, accurately, and professionally.
- Registers applicant and transfer donors based on appropriate training and operational needs.
- Answers the telephone and transfers calls to appropriate staff members.
- Maintains alertness during the pheresis process and notifies staff of any reactions.
- Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
- Accurately records donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
- Understands and follows policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs.
- Maintains a clean and efficient work environment and ensures sufficient supplies are available.
- Fulfills HSE and OSHA policies and procedures.
- Promotes safety in all actions.
- Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
- Other qualifications or responsibilities may apply based on local legal and/or educational requirements.
Pay
The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $18.98/hour - $20.72/hour. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies, and other relevant factors.
