About the role

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. Assists qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, and performing health screening procedures like blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. May also educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and conduct registration procedures
• Assist donors in completing screening process
• Absorb and answer basic medical questions related to donation process
• Refer donors to medical staff when necessary
• Perform health screening procedures including blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature
• Obtain donor’s hematocrit and total protein levels through finger stick
• May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma
• Answer caller questions and transfer calls to appropriate staff
• Monitor donors for reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system
• Understand and follow policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment
• Ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and procedures
• Promote safety in all actions
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations
• Other qualifications or responsibilities may apply based on local legal and/or educational requirements

Pay

The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $16.61/hour - $18.13/hour.
