Receiving Supervisor

About the role

The Receiving Supervisor oversees the inbound operations of the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate receipt, inspection, and processing of all incoming shipments. This role involves managing a team of receiving associates, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations within a cold storage environment.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise the receiving team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Ensure adherence to company policies and operational guidelines.
• Receiving Operations: Oversee the receipt of all incoming shipments, ensuring timely unloading, inspection, and accurate documentation in the WMS.
• Quality Control: Ensure all inbound products are inspected for quantity, quality, and condition. Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments.
• Inventory Management: Coordinate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate records of incoming goods. Assist with cycle counts and stock reconciliations as necessary.
• Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, shipping, inventory, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient communication and flow of goods into the warehouse.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in receiving processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Develop and enforce best practices for the receiving team.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all receiving activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies, particularly in handling cold storage products. Maintain proper use of PPE and ensure the team follows safety protocols.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of received shipments, including documentation of discrepancies, damages, or delays. Generate reports on inbound operations performance and issues.
• Equipment Management: Ensure that all receiving equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, are properly maintained and used safely. Report any equipment malfunctions or needs for repair.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with a focus on receiving. At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience is required.
• Experience in cold storage or food logistics is preferred.
• Forklift certification is a plus.

Pay

$55,000 – $60,000 annually. The range listed is the Company's good-faith estimate of the annual base salary for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, location, internal equity, and market factors, consistent with applicable pay transparency laws.
