The Overnight Receiving Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the warehouse operations of each retail store. They supervise warehouse specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators, and manage the daily freight schedule based on customer and inventory needs.
Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
- Manage storage buy transactions, handling receiving errors, and staging products.
- Maintain warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance programs and communicate necessary repairs to CEM and/or Operations Manager.
- Ensure a safe and clean workplace for employees and comply with all OSHA regulations.
- Train and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Handle employee inquiries and resolve problems, coordinating with other departments for efficient warehouse operations.
- Complete activity reports for management, monitor paperwork flow, resolve discrepancies, and oversee Storage Buy Audit COP.
- Ensure proper inventory rotation and storage compliance.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, delegating, and follow-up skills.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Competent in basic mathematical calculations and computer skills (Windows-based systems).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines.
- Available to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons.
Essential Functions
- Schedule warehouse personnel to ensure productive and cost-efficient operations.
- Oversee warehouse activities such as storage, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure safe, efficient operation.
- Implement and enforce warehouse safety programs.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff.
- Handle employee inquiries and resolve problems.
- Coordinate with other departments for efficient warehouse operations.
- Complete necessary reports and monitor paperwork flow.
- Resolve discrepancies and ensure proper inventory management.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.
- Moderate to noisy noise levels in the work environment.
- Physical demands: ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly.
- Requires use of hands and fingers, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
