Responsibilities
- Oversee all inventory control operations, including cycle counts, physical inventories, variance investigations, and WMS record maintenance across all client accounts
- Manage daily receiving operations, ensuring inbound freight is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with client and carrier requirements
- Oversee verification, documentation, and WMS processing of inbound purchase orders, ASNs, and transfer receipts to maintain inventory accuracy from point of receipt
- Cook with carriers and client logistics teams to schedule inbound deliveries and resolve discrepancies, short shipments, overages, and damaged freight
- Monitor inbound dock scheduling to minimize trailer dwell time and maintain an organized, safe receiving environment
- Ensure receiving documentation, including packing lists and receiving reports, is accurately completed, filed, and audit ready
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of inventory control and receiving associates, including performance expectations, coaching, and evaluations
- Establish and enforce inventory control policies, procedures, and SOPs to ensure consistency and compliance with client and company standards
- Analyze inventory data and variance trends to identify root causes of shrinkage, mislocations, and system discrepancies, and implement corrective action plans
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications on stock accuracy, adjustments, holds, and audit results
- Partner with operations and IT teams to ensure WMS configurations, item setups, and transaction processes support inventory integrity
- Plan and execute annual physical inventory counts, coordinating staffing, scheduling, system freezes, and client reporting
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics including inventory accuracy, adjustment frequency, shrinkage, cycle count completion, receiving accuracy, and dock to stock cycle times
- Oversee the handling of damaged, expired, quarantined, and returned products, ensuring proper disposition per client contracts and company policy
- Drive continuous improvement in slotting, labeling, location accuracy, and inventory workflow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, client specific handling requirements, and company housekeeping standards
- Perform other supervisory, operational, and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of inventory control and/or receiving experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role within a distribution center environment
- In-depth knowledge of inventory control principles, cycle counting methodologies, inbound receiving operations, and warehouse management best practices
- Advanced proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory data and develop data driven solutions
- Proven leadership experience managing, developing, and holding a team accountable in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with associates, operations leadership, and clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Forklift certification required, or ability to obtain certification upon hire
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
