Receiving Supervisor
About the role
The Overnight Receiving Supervisor oversees and directs warehouse operations in retail stores. Key responsibilities include managing staff schedules, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining equipment, and enforcing safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Directs day-to-day warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and maintenance.
- Schedules warehouse personnel to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Maintains warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance and reporting necessary repairs.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and maintains a safe, clean workplace.
- Trains and supervises warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Handles employee inquiries, resolves issues, and coordinates with other departments.
- Monitors paperwork flow from receiving to inventory control, ensuring timely data entry.
- Executes Storage Buy Audits and manages inventory rotation.
- Manages the Storage Buy Audit COP and ensures proper product staging and storage.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, delegating, and follow-up skills.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Basic mathematical calculations and strong computer skills (Windows-based systems).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines.
- Availability to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons.
