Job Overview
The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the receiving department. This role ensures the accurate and timely receipt of goods, maintains a safe and organized work environment, and drives continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and team performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of receiving associates to achieve departmental goals.
- Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable to high standards of productivity, quality, and safety.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and administer fair and consistent discipline when necessary.
- Oversee accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain proper staffing levels and coordinate cross-training to ensure operational flexibility and coverage.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
- Carry out regular safety audits and participate in incident investigations as needed.
- Drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and service levels.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and resolve issues.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Two or more years of related supervisory experience or training are required.
- ICIM and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge are preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license is required.
