Rapid Response/Code Team Nurse - Part Time

Role Overview

The Clinical Nurse on the Rapid Response/Code Team is a hospital-wide resource responding to emergency situations such as Code Blue, White, CAT events, and traumas. They provide expert guidance and education to staff performing unfamiliar procedures, ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.
• Promoting patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, home care, and medication use.
• Participating in safety, quality, and compliance activities, and supporting professional development.
• Developing and documenting individualized care plans collaboratively, ensuring effective communication across care teams.
• Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, cultural, and spiritual factors.
• Maintaining alertness and safety awareness as this is a safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree with RN licensure.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing with less than 2 years of experience.
• Critical care or emergency department experience, ACLS certification, and ability to work rotating shifts.
