Quality-Patient Safety Nurse Coordinator
Job Summary and Qualifications
The RN Quality & Patient Safety Coordinator assists Risk Management and Patient Safety teams in enhancing and promoting patient safety and quality care. Key responsibilities include:
- Gather and analyze data and prepare reports to management and outside agencies as required.
- Participate on committees directed towards promoting patient safety issues.
- Absorb and analyze serious events, develop action plans, and monitor follow-up.
- Assist in investigating and analyzing patient safety issues.
- Support proactive risk assessments and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
- Collaborate with QRM Leadership to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Respond to patient grievances and complaints within required timeframes.
- Maintain accurate records of grievances and provide education on the grievance and complaint process.
- Facilitate case analysis on Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs) and implement action plans.
- Provide ongoing education on patient safety and quality improvement to hospital and medical staff.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or a compact state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- 4 years of clinical experience required.
- 1 year of QA/PI experience preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
