Quality-Patient Safety Nurse Coordinator

Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN Quality & Patient Safety Coordinator assists Risk Management and Patient Safety teams in enhancing and promoting patient safety and quality care. Key responsibilities include:

• Gather and analyze data and prepare reports to management and outside agencies as required.
• Participate on committees directed towards promoting patient safety issues.
• Absorb and analyze serious events, develop action plans, and monitor follow-up.
• Assist in investigating and analyzing patient safety issues.
• Support proactive risk assessments and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
• Collaborate with QRM Leadership to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
• Respond to patient grievances and complaints within required timeframes.
• Maintain accurate records of grievances and provide education on the grievance and complaint process.
• Facilitate case analysis on Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs) and implement action plans.
• Provide ongoing education on patient safety and quality improvement to hospital and medical staff.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or a compact state.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• 4 years of clinical experience required.
• 1 year of QA/PI experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
