Nursing Quality and Safety Coordinator

About the role

This position involves collaborating with senior nursing and clinical leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission, ACHC, Department of Health, and CMS. The role manages nursing quality and safety initiatives, including overseeing MDS assessments, supporting Swing Bed operations, and coordinating quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in interdisciplinary committees for quality, fall prevention, and safe patient handling
• Analyze data to identify improvements
• Implement action plans using the PDSA model
• Act as a resource for nursing staff
• Provide performance data for leadership
• Support nursing education related to policy updates and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
• Three years of hospital experience in clinical operations, quality, and safety
• Lean Expert certification required within one year
• Preferred experience in MDS and Swing Bed settings
• Valid RN licensure
• CPR certification mandatory

Requirements

• Work environment involves office and meeting room settings, with some travel and adherence to infection control protocols
• Supervises one staff member at one location
• Provides access to sensitive patient information, maintaining HIPAA compliance
