About the role

The Purchasing-Inventory Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing Highwood USA's supply chain, ensuring efficient operations through effective inventory management and procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate multiple types of lift trucks and pallet jacks including completing pre-startup inspections.
  • Executes material planning, procurement, and inventory control for production. Includes sourcing/purchasing and receiving all raw materials/ancillary items.
  • Manages, adjusts, and tracks inventory shortages or gains, including root cause analysis and action plans to correct.
  • Develops a schedule and leads physical inventories and cycle counts on all raw materials. Identifies and corrects root cause of inventory variances.
  • Put away and/or stage all incoming product.
  • Receive and label RMAs for fabrication.
  • Complete receiving functions in IQMS.
  • Make inventory moves/adjustments in IQMS.
  • Able to learn and successfully use an RF scan gun.
  • Manage and organize floor space constraints vs. inventory levels.
  • Rotate and replenish all inventory stock to keep lower racking full.
  • Maintain Receiving Rack.
  • Responsible for hardware rack organization.
  • Maintain and schedule dumpster pick-ups.
  • Scrap, sawdust, and cardboard runs as needed.
  • Manage hardware kits both on and off-site.
  • Back-up truck driver.

Selection Criteria

  • Maintain an acceptable level of performance & attendance.
  • Ability to flex shift and complete overtime as required.
  • Preference to team members with prior truck driving experience.
  • Has successfully completed 9 months of employment (Exceptions to this 9-month requirement can be made prior to posting the position externally).

Education and/or Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift experience is a plus.

Language Skills

Able to communicate & comprehend in the English Language to perform the duties of this position.

Mathematical Skills

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Possess the ability to accurately read a tape measure.

Reasoning Ability

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
