Public Service Department Skilled Laborer

Charter Township of Union is seeking an energetic, team-oriented individual to join its Public Services Department team as a full-time Skilled Laborer under the supervision of the Public Works Foreman.

About the role

This position functions as a laborer and skilled public works technician, performing tasks in support of the water and sewer systems and Township properties. Work includes maintenance and repairs that are both routine and emergency in nature, installation of system components, meter reading and replacement, landscaping, snow removal, and various preventive maintenance tasks requiring equipment use and/or manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair water and sewer systems
• Install system components
• Read and replace meters
• Perform landscaping tasks
• Remove snow
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks using equipment and manual labor
• Respond to emergency maintenance needs
