Position Information
Independently performs professional work in planning, organizing and directing a comprehensive aquatic program at one or more municipal aquatic facilities. Responsible for the overall operation of the pool complex; and performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Education Requirement: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in recreation, physical education, education or a related field. Work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience Requirement: One year of experience in planning, organizing and directing recreational activities. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, tools and techniques of recreation; playground administration and operation; group behavior and the ability to organize and instruct groups of children and adults; and prepare reports.
- Certificate/License Requirements:
- 1. American Red Cross Community First Aid and Safety Certificate or equivalent;
- 2. Either an American Red Cross Community CPR Certificate, certificate of completion of the American Heart Association Health Care Provider course, or equivalent.
