About the role
To assist with various HR functions including recruitments, onboarding, training, and administrative tasks. Provides practical HR experience and a learning opportunity to gain insights into HR practices and processes.
Responsibilities
- Review applications and screen resumes to identify potential candidates to fill open roles throughout the company
- Complete phone interviews with applicants
- Schedule in-person interviews with candidates
- Assist HR Specialist on job postings on job boards
- Assist Director of HR on scheduling executive panel interviews
- Provide candidates with rejection letters or job offers
- Assist HR department on organizing company events
- File HR documents
- Assist on gathering new hire performance evaluations
- Assist in review of approved leave forms
- Maintain personnel records in compliance with laws
- Ensure compliance with Labor Law postings at all locations
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Provide excellent customer service
- Complete special projects
- Manage multiple duties simultaneously
- Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
- Cross-train and assist in any HR functions as needed or required
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Current 4-year college student obtaining a degree in HR Management, psychology, or pre-law
- 1+ year of experience working in an office environment
- 1+ year experience in human resources (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent data entry and typing skills
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productively
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems
- Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment
- Excellent attendance
- Well-developed communication and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic and motivated to take initiative
- Punctual
- Proficient in MS Suite
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
- May be occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- The general office environment is favorable; lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
- Visual acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
- Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information
- May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
Pay
$20.00/hour
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 25 hours a week
