Position Overview
The PRN (as Needed) Instructional Content Specialist plays a key role in supporting high-quality instruction across our virtual school by collaborating with teachers and the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction to design engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials.
Essential Responsibilities
Collaborate with Dean of Curriculum and Instruction to design and develop high-quality, standards-aligned lesson plans
Create engaging, student-friendly instructional slide decks that support clear learning objectives
Ensure lesson materials include key instructional components such as warm-ups, guided practice, and checks for understanding
Adapt and differentiate materials to meet diverse student needs in a virtual setting
Ensure all instructional materials align with state standards and organizational expectations
Promote vertical and horizontal alignment across grade levels and content areas
Maintain consistency in instructional routines, structure, and expectations across courses
Collaborate with leadership to refine scope and sequence documents and pacing guides
Design materials that reflect best practices in virtual instruction, including student engagement and interaction
Incorporate strategies that support gradual release of responsibility and active learning
Ensure instructional resources are accessible, organized, and easy for teachers to implement
Stay current on trends and tools that enhance virtual teaching and learning
Work closely with instructional leaders to continuously improve content and delivery
Participate in content development sessions and feedback cycles
Revise and update materials based on teacher feedback and student performance data
Support the overall mission of improving instructional quality and student outcomes across the virtual school
Qualifications
Valid Texas teaching certification
Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experience
Preferred Master’s degree in Education or related field
Previous experience in a virtual or online education environment
Experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL) models
Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to analyze and act on data
High level of accountability and follow-through
Collaborative mindset
Knowledge of Google Suites Products
Work Conditions
PRN (As Needed)
No guarantee of continuous work or certain hours.
PRNs complete work and tasks as assigned.
Work is performed from a remote office environment.
